Federal land within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area will be redesignated into two parts:

The Delaware River National Park

  • Consists of a corridor of land along the Delaware River and includes the Dingmans Falls and Raymondskill Falls areas.

  • Highest level of environmental protection given by Park Service

  • No consumptive activities (i.e. hunting, farming ) are permitted.

  • Consists of about 10,000 acres.

The Lenape Preserve

  • All Federal land within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation area not designated as National Park.

  • Hunting and farming are permitted.

  • Consists of about 50-55,000 acres.

There have been many claims made by our opposition that are based on misinformation about our proposal.
